Kellen Powell is a visual artist originally from Western Canada, now living in Austin, Texas with his wife, two sons, and dog. He holds a B.F.A. from Simon Fraser University in BC.

In Kellen’s current series, titled Revisionist Westerns, he renders familiar western tropes and subjects with a kinetic, expressive style. Subjects ranging from Hollywood cowboys to spectral horses, all exploding with energy - leave an undeniable imprint of the artist’s movement and presence on the canvas.

He is unaccustomed to writing about himself in the third person and sincerely hopes this has not made you uncomfortable.
